Observing National Brain Injury Awareness Month

March is the official Brain Injury Awareness month. Every March, the CDC and other health organizations raise awareness about traumatic brain injuries. Their goals are to help prevent these devastating injuries, while promoting strategies to improve the quality of life for traumatic brain injury survivors and their families. What most Americans do not realize is how prevalent brain injuries are in our communities. An estimated 1.5 million Americans suffer from a brain injury every single year. In addition, more than 5.3 million Americans currently live with a permanent TBI-related disability. Brain Injury Awareness Month For more than three decades, the Brain Injury Association of America has led the nation in observing Brain Injury Awareness month.
